James & Chris

Dalhousie Castle, Bonnyrigg

As "The Beast from the East" gripped the country, James & Chris fortunately had mother nature on their side with picturesque blue skies and fresh snow giving Dalhousie Castle a distinctly festive feel for the day.

They spent the morning away from each other in different wings of the castle, with their friends and family keeping watch so as to avoid the men taking a sneaky peek at each other.

You couldn't wipe the smiles from any of the guests faces during the ceremony. Cheeky heckles from their friends aside, they were now officially Husband and Husband - sealing the deal with their first kiss as a married couple.

Even the chilly conditions couldn't stop the guests venturing outside, though it should be noted - brogues and heels are not suitable for the snow! Ever the troopers - the newlyweds happily posed away in the snow before retreating back inside to the much warmer castle.

I've known James a long time and it really was a privilege to be part of their day. The love and affection shown that day will stay with me for a long time.
